![]() etc.Īnd then there's taking the original mix and bouncing out the stems for an atmos mix so you have to think about both recording and mixing production prep in stereo and in atmos way in advance so the project actually works. ![]() Also how do you bounce master files, how do you submit master files for distribution, how do you deal with mastering itself, loudness levels that need strictly adhering to ( or you'll get your mixes rejected ) how do you use the Dolby Bridge and Dolby renderer, how you monitor in 7.1.4, Binaural and stereo on speakers and on headphones etc. The learning curve is how to mix in atmos so those mixes translate back down to stereo and binaural and still sound good. It's pretty easy(ish) to get an atmos mix up and sounding good ( with say Pro tools ) if you know what you're doing as a mix engineer, you've prepped the sessions properly and once you've figured out how beds, objects, LFE channel and the time code between the DAW and Dolby render and the associated routing all works together.
